2014 Brainerd Walk Ambassador- Gannon Raguse

Team Gannon at the Brainerd Step Out 2013

Dear Friends, Family and Community Members,

My name is Gannon Raguse.  I will be a Senior at Brainerd High School when my team (Team Gannon) has the privilege of being the Ambassador for the 2014 Brainerd Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.

At the age of six I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.  I was in the hospital for three days while the doctors and nurses tried to regulate my blood glucose and my parents learned about diabetes and how to give insulin injections.  Ever since that time it has been my mission to help raise awareness and funds to find a cure for diabetes.  This will be Team Gannon’s 12th year participating in the walk.  It hasn’t always been an easy road to follow over the years.  I’ve had plenty of highs and lows, even having to be revived one time.  But I haven’t let diabetes prevent me from doing the things I like to do.

Team Gannon consisted of 25 friends and family members in 2013 and raised over $3000.  We would love to have you join us this year and make it our most successful walk ever .  Please register online at www.diabetes.org/brainerd and join Team Gannon on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Paul Bunyan Trailhead in Baxter.  We CAN make a difference!

Thank you for your support of this amazing cause!
